Benign Myth, Glasgow Fury Murrys
What a welcome I got when I walked into Fury Murrys.
To be honest I think I was expecting some melodic indie band that I've
been seeing a lot of recently.
But what I got instead was BENIGN MYTH. I dont know what it is - rap,
rock, metal, funk - but I like it. It’s an amazing fusion of genres
and it works.
You cant fault this band at all, they have everything from the perfectly-timed
and tight drummer (Chris) to the cool and funky guitarist (Bob), then
there's the geeky-looking but amazingly talented bass player (Mogli)
and of course there's the
sexy vocalist (Ricky) whose stage presence and energy complete the band.
This group of guys from Dunblane have taken the sounds of some of the
best bands in the world - Rage Against The Machine,
Chilli Peppers, and N.E.R.D, to name a few. They've chopped them up, flung
them together, put their own stamp on it and produced one of the best
most original bands I've heard in a long time.
Rumour has it that these guys will be supporting Zeroscape when they
go back to tour Canada. Not bad for a band who have only been together
for under 2 years.
But in the meantime though these guys are going to be touring round Scotland,
from Aberdeen to Dundee, Glasgow
and Edinbirgh and most probably ending in their native town of Dunblane.
This is a band you should go see now before they’re massive and
you can’t get a ticket for love nor money.
