In this guide on a technicality, Dave was born in Dumbarton but moved to NYC as a child. Formed Talking Heads who had massive success throughout the 1970's & 1980's. Career stuttered a bit when he went solo (there's probably around one album's worth of decent stuff from the first 3 solo albums) but hit form again with this last album Feelings hence his adoption. Also runs the 'world music' label Luaka Bop who brought Cornershop to the masses.
