big news
At a glittering ceremony
at Glasgow's Mono, attended by anyone who's anyone in the Scottish
indie scene, the Jockrock Awards for 2004 were (eventually)
presented. Golden
Clefts were handed over by Beatscene presenter Jim Gellatly to The
Kitchen and Multiplies (Best
single for their split
10"), and to the Flying Matchstick Men, who
received their award seconds before going onstage to close the proceedings.
Storming live sets were also performed
by Luxury Car and Q Without U,
both unlucky to lose out in their own categories. The other
winners on the night were Franz Ferdinand, who sadly
were on their way to
Russia when the ceremony took place.
