Sat 3rd May, Edinburgh Cabaret Voltaire: fourteenhours / The Stantons, Cabaret Voltaire, 7pm, £5. (in association with Eventorz)
fourteenhours
Formed in Edinburgh after long time friends, Dan, Paul and Brian found themselves living in the same city after years apart due to the work thing that happens after university. Brian had met Tommy numerous times before and was aware that his guitar playing skills would more than complement the band. So, after a quick intro and a few sesions, Tommy firmly put his mark on fourteenhours and they all get on like a house on fire. It's working a treat so far...

The Stantons
The Stantons are a low-down, cheating bunch of whiskey hounds. They'll lie, steal, take your wife/husband/coyote, shark you at cards, rustle your sheep and generally make themselves as obstreperous as they can to the general well-being of their surroundings. Fortunately, coming from a musical background an' all, they can write some good tunes to redeem themselves. Rustic songs of murder, gambling, accidents and the vagaries of existence all boil together in a stew with hallucinations, paranoia and a good ol' sense of humour. Come along, you're very welcome. Don't mind the rats.
