Grandfather to modern Scottish music (if you ignore Rod Stewart, not an easy task), Sir Ed was of course main man in Orange Juice who had a string of top 40 hits in the 80's. Now solo, he's foraged away with a couple of semi-successful solo albums but found his feet with the massive Girl Like You single. Now very quiet muaically, most recently seen on telly in his 'West Heath Yard' series where he plays a dodgy record producer... possibly based on personal experience.
